Our vision is to enable any organization to execute infrastructure projects on budget, on time, and while meeting all of its environmental, social, and governance commitments. Does that sound impossible? We don’t think so. There’s no better time to shake things up and bring a new light on how infrastructure can be planned, designed, built, and managed.
Our Story
dependbuild was founded in Atlantic Canada by Tom Cooper and Conor O’Brien after witnessing firsthand the challenges faced when undertaking large (or even small) infrastructure projects. Every community can feel the impacts when these projects go astray.
Tom, a professor at Memorial University of Newfoundland and longtime consultant for municipalities across North America, was acutely aware of the many challenges modern communities are facing: shifting environments, failing infrastructure, changing community needs, constrained resources, staff turnover… the list goes on.
Conor, a successful entrepreneur within the construction industry, had also noticed a lack of tools that were specific to the nuances of infrastructure development, and especially for public projects. Tom and Conor knew there was a better way that projects could be delivered and risk managed, and after a dinner one night, the duo formed dependbuild.
At dependbuild, we’re reminded of the importance of the work we do every day. We’re committed to not only being a technology company, but a partner that can help ensure the success and resilience of infrastructure around the world- something that’s needed now more than ever.
